This is a compilation of the most frequently asked questions and answers about CBD Hemp. If you have a question that is not listed, please give us a call or send us a note using the link below.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HEMP AND MARIJUANA?

Hemp is from the Cannabis Sativa family, but by law, Industrial Hemp must contain a THC (psychoactive part of marijuana) content of less than 0.3%. Industrial Hemp strains have been cultivated to either produce fiber for numerous products or for CBD (canabadiol) which has many health benefits.

WHAT ABOUT THE SEEDS THAT DON’T GERMINATE?

Since our seeds consistently germinate at a rate above 90%, we include an overage of 10% on all seed orders. For instance, if you purchase 100 seeds, we will send you 110 to make up for any non-germinating seeds. It is just the only fair way we know to do business. If you have issues with germination, please contact us.

IS HEMP LEGAL TO POSSESS?

Yes – With the passage of the 2018 Farm Bill, Industrial Hemp was taken off of the scheduled drug list by the federal government. While not all states allow it to be commercially grown yet, it is legal to possess. In Colorado, it is perfectly legal to grow, and sell, with the proper license.

SHOULD I GROW HEMP?

Hemp is from the Cannabis Sativa family, but by law, Industrial Hemp must contain a THC (psychoactive part of marijuana) content of less than 0.3%. Industrial Hemp strains have been cultivated to either produce fiber for numerous products or for CBD (canabadiol) which has many health benefits.

DO I NEED A LICENSE TO GROW HEMP?

Generally, the answer is YES. The 2018 Farm Bill allowed states to adopt their own rules regarding hemp and hemp production. Please refer to your local laws and department of agriculture for the applicable rules in your state.

ARE YOUR SEEDS GUARANTEED TO BE FEMALE?

Nothing in life is ever 100% (except maybe death and taxes) and feminized seed is no different. Our seeds consistently produce female plants over 99% of the time, but once in a while a male plant may grow from a feminized seed. It is always important to check your garden or field often, especially during the flowering period.

If you are buying seed from anyone who tells you their seed is 100% guaranteed female, save your money and find another seed dealer, because they are lying to you…

ARE YOUR SEEDS GUARANTEED TO STAY BELOW 0.3% THC?

No, any hemp plant, if left flowering long enough, can “go hot” and exceed the legal limit of THC. Our seeds have been bred to produce a plant low in THC. It is the grower’s responsibility, however, to test their plants during the flowering phase and harvest accordingly.

DO YOU DELIVER?

Yes, we can deliver seeds to most locations east of the continental divide. We only deliver within Colorado and there is an additional fee.

DO YOU SHIP SEEDS?

Yes, we can ship hemp seeds by mail anywhere within the United States. We cannot process International orders and we will not ship clones or flower material under any circumstances.

DO YOU GROW ORGANICALLY?

While we are not a certified organic farm, we believe in using organic methods in all we do. We use a completely organic pest control regimen and only use natural fertilizers.

WHERE CAN I GROW HEMP?

Hemp can be grown outdoors, in a green house, or indoors under artificial light. While plants always do better under the sun, based upon your circumstances, any indoor method of growing will work with hemp also.

WHAT IS CBD WORTH?

That is a great question, with a constantly changing answer. Whether you are talking about flower, biomass, crude oil, isolate, or distillate, they all have different prices that change daily with the market. We recommend any grower or farmer have a plan of not just how to grow hemp, but also what they will do with their finished harvest.

IS THERE MORE TO HEMP THAN JUST CBD?

Absolutely there is! While CBD is the buzz word today and has gotten hemp production back on the map, hemp is so much more than one substance… Did you know?

  • Hemp Paper is stronger than wood based paper and can withstand more folding
  • One acre of hemp produces twice the oil as one acre of peanuts and more fiber pulp than 4 acres of trees
  • Almost anything plastic can also be made from hemp
  • Levi’s jeans were originally made from hemp sail fabric used on ships of the day
  • The “Hemp for Victory” campaign encouraged US farmers to grow over 100,000 acres of hemp for the war effort during World War II. Source: National Hemp Foundation

WHAT IS THE FUTURE OF THE HEMP MARKET?

This is the billion dollar question. Hemp used to be prevalent prior to the Marijuana Tax Act of 1937. Once it became illegal, cotton and other crops took its place. Now that industrial hemp is legal once again, the sky is really the limit. We believe that the US Farmer, with their work ethic and ingenuity, will once again make industrial hemp one of the most successful crops grown in the United States.

WHEN WILL I GET MY SEEDS?

All of our orders are shipped USPS First Class with a tracking number. Orders are normally processed within 2 business days and will arrive in approximately 5 business days from time of order.
